Homemade Marinara Sauce


Economical, tasty, double-duty sauce good for pasta and for dipping

Time: 30 mins.

1 Tbs. olive oil

1 finely diced small onion

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 28-oz. can peeled and diced tomatoes

1 bay leaf

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. dried oregano

1/2 tsp. dried basil

In a large saucepan over medium heat, warm the olive oil then add the onions and sauté them for 5 to 7 minutes.

Add garlic and stir for 1 minute

Add tomatoes, bay leaf, oregano, basil, and salt; stir to mix.

Bring the sauce to a rapid simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 20 minutes.
